Academic Institutions That Subscribe to EBSCO’s Search and Discovery Platform for Libraries Can Now Receive Integrated Access to Scholarly Journal Articles from CCC’s ‘Get It Now’ Article Delivery Service

May 20, 2025 – Danvers, Mass. – CCC, a leader in advancing copyright, accelerating knowledge, and powering innovation, announced an expansion to its multi-year strategic agreement with EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO). CCC’s ‘Get It Now’ academic article delivery service is now integrated with EBSCO Discovery Service™ (EDS), enabling students, faculty, and researchers at higher education institutions to request and access individual journal articles from within the EDS search and discovery platform.

Used by thousands of academic researchers worldwide, EDS provides sophisticated search capabilities and superior relevance ranking technology with direct access to the full text of library-subscribed content. For journal content that the academic library does not subscribe to,  a link to ‘Get It Now’ is provided within EDS search results, where the patron or librarian can purchase the article for immediate delivery as an alternative to interlibrary loan (ILL).

“Our integration with ‘Get It Now’ helps ensure academics can discover and access the high-quality journal content they require to further their research, whether their library subscribes to the journal or not,” said Bonnie Leavitt, Vice President, Product Management, EBSCO Information Services. “This comprehensive solution combines EDS’s superior indexing and discovery capabilities with ‘Get It Now’ around-the-clock article purchase and delivery within the research workflow, saving valuable time and resources.”

“CCC and EBSCO have partnered for years, providing best-in-class solutions for our mutual customers in academic institutions and corporations,” said Emily Sheahan, Vice President and Managing Director, CCC. “The integration of ‘Get It Now’ and EDS is another example where we listen to our customers and work together to make it easy to discover and quickly obtain non-subscribed journal content to improve the research process.”

In addition to ‘Get It Now,’ CCC’s solutions for academia make it easy for faculty, researchers, staff,  students, and those that serve the academic market at all levels to access and share copyrighted content with innovative licensing and content solutions, such as the Annual Copyright License for Higher Education, Pay-Per-Use Permissions Service, RightFind Curriculum, and the Annual Copyright License for Student Assessments. CCC advocates for copyright worldwide by engaging governments, stakeholders, and individuals with educational programmingthought leadership resources, and through its online hub, AI, Copyright & Licensing.
