American Mathematical Society Partners with Copyright Clearance Center to Automate Permissions Requests Using RightsLink®

Leading Publisher of Mathematics Journals, Books, and Online Tools Implements Licensing Solution for Readers to Republish or Reuse Content

Danvers, Mass. – Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC), a global licensing and content solutions organization, announced the American Mathematical Society (AMS), a leading publisher of mathematics books, journals, and online tools, has implemented CCC’s RightsLink®, a technology solution that allows visitors to the AMS website to license content quickly and easily.

With RightsLink, those interested in republishing or reusing AMS content can efficiently purchase permissions using links on AMS journal and book web pages. RightsLink, which has been addressing publisher licensing needs for more than 15 years, frees up staff, reduces costs, and maximizes revenue. The implementation is built and configured based on each publisher’s business and pricing rules, and helps inform the publisher’s business decisions by providing access to valuable data through CCC’s sophisticated analytics tools. Dedicated RightsLink customer service staff ensures a seamless rights and permissions process for both publishers and their customers.

“We are thrilled to have AMS join the list of distinguished publishers that have selected RightsLink to streamline the management of permissions requests,” said Bill Neuman, CCC Vice President, Products. “RightsLink has a long history of working with publishers to facilitate the licensing of articles, books, and new media content directly from their websites.”
“We are delighted to simplify the permissions process for our members and readers through RightsLink,” said Robert Harington, Associate Director for Publishing, AMS. “This system will let our publishing staff focus on our core mission – the dissemination of mathematics research – and spend less time on administrative work.”
