Industry experts discuss how standards help businesses prioritize the environment, and explore how standards development organizations (SDOs) are finding new ways to make it easier for engineers and researchers to access these authoritative materials while protecting intellectual property and respecting copyright.

CCC brought together a panel of industry experts who presented their perspectives on the challenges and benefits presented by standards and copyright in the creative economy. To manage costs and protect intellectual property, organizations are looking for innovative strategies, management systems, and processes to help them innovate and compete more effectively. Standards are a critical component to these efforts.

For more than 100 years, technical standards have been understood as formalized statements, developed and maintained by a given community of interest, towards “standardizing” products and processes synthesized in the physical world.

In this event, a panel of experts will share their views on the role of standards in the workflow of the future, followed by an open discussion on what challenges and opportunities this will bring to all stakeholders.
