Get Trustworthy, Actionable Data with RightFind Navigate’s Author Insights

For R&D driven companies, understanding the data around an article can be just as crucial as the content itself. Whether working in medical affairs, clinical affairs, R&D or on competitive intelligence teams, researchers are challenged to find the most relevant content in an ocean of scientific literature. The ability to surface critical connections between authors and content is key for identifying relevant research and accelerating speed to insights.

The introduction of author insights, a new feature in RightFind Navigate, brings knowledge graph functionality for author data to the research experience, making it easy to discover key relationships and affiliations that affect your therapeutic focus. Author insights can help you answer critical questions like:

  • Who else works at this institution?
  • What have they published, and when?
  • Who do they typically collaborate with?
  • Is this institution a major hub in my research area?

With author insights, users can explore key details about authors, their main collaborators, topics of interest, and institutional affiliations, all directly within the search results. This feature is designed to help researchers quickly assess the impact and relevance of an author’s work while identifying potential opportunities for collaboration with key opinion leaders.

A Smarter Way to Navigate Author Data

When browsing search results in RightFind Navigate, users will be presented with an author insights tab for select content available from PubMed’s Medline database. This provides an at-a-glance view of an author’s top three affiliated institutions and top three collaborators. Clicking on these details opens dynamic dashboards that leverage CCC’s extensive knowledge graph, which is built on interconnected Medline data that is continuously being added to and currently covers 8.5 million articles, 12.8 million authors, and 228,000 institutions.

This rich network of data allows users to:

  • Gain insight into an author’s institutional affiliations and how their research fits within larger academic and clinical ecosystems.
  • See the number of articles they have published, along with their publication history by year.
  • Explore co-authors and collaborators, helping to identify key opinion leaders and other connections in a given field.
  • Discover if an author’s research is associated with active clinical trials, providing deeper context for real-world applications.
  • Drill down into an institution’s research output, including which authors are affiliated with it and what they have published.

Author Insights in Action

Disambiguating data is difficult to do well. CCC has focused on providing a graph dataset that is robust, using data pipelines with a learning architecture to continually support and increase our degree of belief that the author for one article is the same as the author for another, or to be sure that they were at Institution A as well as Institution B.

Our efforts help us reliably disambiguate author and institution data to provide insights researchers can trust and reduces the time it takes to map out key relationships. This means you can confidently validate information about known experts, discover new opinion leaders in a given research area, and identify prolific authors and explore their networks to find potential collaborators.

Whether you’re looking to collaborate with a leading researcher, understand an institution’s role in your field, or track emerging thought leaders, RightFind Navigate provides the context needed to drive effective research.
