Drake University’s Cowles Library turned to the article delivery service Get It Now to help reduce costs while providing students, faculty, and staff with a high level of service.

Drake University’s Cowles Library was challenged to reduce costs while still maintaining a high level of service. To meet this challenge, the library adopted CCC’s article delivery service, Get It Now. Get It Now complements institutions’ interlibrary loan (ILL) services by providing library patrons with immediate fulfillment of full-text articles from non-subscribed journals.

Get It Now enabled Drake to expand its collection virtually with a service faster and more cost-effective than ILL that grants patrons access to 10s of millions of articles from thousands of journals for which Drake does not have subscriptions. In addition, Drake faculty and staff can request and obtain articles 24/7 — a vital point for the Cowles Library.

Get It Now has delivered additional benefits for Drake, including the ability to find articles not available anywhere else, such as those not yet published, as well as providing high-quality, full-color PDF articles straight from the publisher.

I strongly recommend Get It Now to other academic institutions. We have access to a lot more titles and we can pay as we go. We’re very happy with the Get It Now service.
