Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) is pleased to offer the OnCopyright Education Certificate Program. Developed for professionals who deal with copyright issues on a day-to-day basis, the program is comprised of industry-specific courses that target a variety of user communities and the challenges faced in managing copyright.

Whether you are responsible for managing compliance and ethics, obtaining permissions, organizing your organization’s various license agreements, or dealing with content, OnCopyright Education’s Certificate Program will guide you through the complex world of copyright.

The program is comprised of a series of instructor-led eLearning courses incorporating group discussions, question and answer sessions and analyses of real-world scenarios, including group and individual activities. Upon completion of the modules that comprise each individual course, participants receive a certificate.

Business Certificates

Copyright Fundamentals in the Workplace – Six Module Certificate Course

Copyright is a type of property law that is intended to secure rights to works that an author has created. OnCopyright Education’s six module eLearning certificate course, Copyright Fundamentals in the Workplace, focuses on the basics of U.S. copyright law and when permission to use copyrighted materials may be required. With an emphasis on text-based materials, key issues that affect employees are discussed. During each online session students will have the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session. Students will also receive a workbook and a recording of the session itself to help with copyright questions long after the course has been completed.

Course Objectives:

  • State the underlying purpose of copyright law
  • Describe the purposes of sections 106, 107 and 109 in U.S. Code title 17, Chapter 1
  • Conduct a fair use analysis on at least three scenarios encountered in your organization
  • List at least one action you will take at your organization within a month of completing this course

Copyright Fundamentals One Module Certificate Course

Are you unclear on how copyright law impacts your work? OnCopyright Education’s one module eLearning certificate course, Copyright Fundamentals, focuses on a broad overview of U.S. copyright law and when permission to use copyrighted materials may be required. During the 120 minute class, students will have the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session with the instructor. They will also receive a workbook and a recording of the class itself as a resource.

  • Describe the intent of §107 Fair Use
  • Recognize copyright implications for digital content
  • Identify potential infringements of copyright
