Danvers, MA – November 2, 2018 – Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC), a leader in advancing copyright, accelerating knowledge, and powering innovation, will participate in a “Knowledge Management Stories: Challenges and Solutions” case study discussion at KM World 2018 in Washington, DC from 4 – 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7. CCC’s booth will be at Table 405 in the JW Marriott.

In this session, CCC Director of Product Engagement Jill Shuman joins Scott Lawrence, Head, Electronic Resources at Shire, and Evgeny Victorov, KM Lead (Upstream) at Gazprom Neft, to share lessons learned, strategic ideas, and tactical tips to align knowledge management (KM) with business needs and priorities. Attendees will learn how effectively engaging with leaders across departments, building relationships with core end users, and evolving corporate missions to meet the critical needs of R&D organizations will pave the way to KM success.

“Sharing the challenges and roadblocks to knowledge management is just as important as talking about its successes,” said Shuman. “I’m honored to join my peers to talk frankly about how effective knowledge management is hard won and hugely beneficial to R&D organizations.”

Shuman recently joined CCC, focusing on customer engagement and development of products and services that meet their emerging needs. Previously, she served as the Head of Knowledge Management at Shire. In this role, Shuman led a team of information professionals responsible for biomedical literature review, competitive intelligence, copyright support and operational management for more than 23,000 employees across the globe. Shuman is an adjunct faculty member at the Tufts University School of Medicine, where she has taught courses in grant writing, searching the biomedical literature, and expository writing.
