Award-Winning Article Delivery Service Now Available to Institutions of Higher Education in the United Arab Emirates and Oman; Adds Content from Three High-Value Publishers

Danvers, Mass. – Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC), a global licensing and content solutions organization and the leading commercial document-delivery provider, announces the addition of a new partner for its award-winning Get It Now article delivery service.

Dubai, UAE-based ORYX SOLUTIONS DMCC, an e-learning solutions and training company serving the Middle East, North Africa, Turkey and Central Asia, will now offer Get It Now to colleges and universities in the United Arab Emirates and Oman.

Get It Now is a cost-effective solution that gives university library patrons and staff instant access to valuable journal content from leading publishers directly on library websites. It increases operational efficiencies, streamlines article ordering and invoicing processes, and includes a comprehensive Librarian Dashboard to manage and track Get It Now article purchases and create real-time usage reports.

Last year, CCC expanded its partnership with Copibec to offer Get It Now to Quebec’s CEGEPS and universities. Get It Now is already available to academic institutions of higher education in Australia, Denmark, Israel, Italy, Mexico and Sweden. Additionally, CCC has recently added new content to Get It Now from three high-value publishers: Foreign Affairs, Johns Hopkins University Press, and Palgrave Macmillan.

“Bringing Get It Now to the United Arab Emirates and Oman is a major milestone in our efforts to provide librarians and their patrons around the globe with a streamlined interlibrary loan solution,” said Tim Bowen, Director, Academic Products and Services, CCC.

“The rapid proliferation of internet access and mobile across the area has resulted in greater demand for electronic information at all levels,” said Haifa Mughrabi, Managing Director, ORYX SOLUTIONS DMCC. “We’re so pleased to partner with CCC to offer Get It Now and other e-learning solutions for higher education in the Middle East and Gulf Region.”

More than 350 institutions of higher education in the U.S. have adopted Get It Now, providing access to millions of journal articles across disciplines from more than 140 leading publishers around the world. Tightly integrated within article search and Interlibrary Loan (ILL) workflows, Get It Now can be implemented as a librarian-mediated version, a link resolver-based unmediated version, or a hybrid of both.

CCC is exhibiting and presenting Get It Now at the ILLiad International Conference March 15-17 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA. CCC’s Executive Director, International Relations, Michael Healy will be speaking at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair Thursday, April 28, 14:00 – 14:45.
