About the Presenters

Dr. Sarah Guadagno is a seasoned expert in Medical Communications and Medical Affairs with a depth and breadth of experience ranging from early-stage research communications to clinical product launches and lifecycle management with a specialization in oncology and rare diseases. As a global leader at pharmaceutical companies both small and large, public and private, her responsibilities have spanned Medical Communications, Scientific Communications, Medical Information/Medical Review, Medical Training, and Digital Innovation.

As a leader, Dr. Guadagno has excelled at nurturing innovation, strengthening collaboration, achieving critical milestones, and elevating the benchmarks for success that enabled key stakeholders to make critical decisions and optimize communications. Dedicated to promoting transparent, credible, and compliant communication, she has a proven track record of implementing and overseeing various strategies, tools, and platforms to advance literature searches and surveillance.

Dr. Guadagno received her Ph.D. in cancer biology and pharmacology from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. She is currently an independent consultant as well as an adjunct faculty at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS)  – School of Professional Studies. She is a member of the Medical Affairs Professional Society (MAPS), the International Society of Publications Professionals (ISMPP) and the Drug Information Association  (DIA). 

Gretchen Hover is a trusted strategic partner and practitioner in market research, patient/stakeholder centricity, growth, and organizational change in the global Life Sciences and Medical Device/Technology markets. She is a co-founder and head of Imbue Partners, a specialized consultancy that collaborates with Launch, Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Patient Experience teams to identify opportunities, boost capabilities, and eliminate roadblocks. In doing so, these teams can achieve sustainable, positive change for their patients, their people, and their businesses.

Gretchen is a facilitator, speaker, and writer including guest participation at Reuters Pharma & Patient 2022 and MassBio’s Patient Summit 2022. She has co-authored“Lessons from an Experiential Approach to Patient Community Engagement in Rare Disease,” (Clinical Therapeutics, December 2020) and the white paper Accessing and analyzing relevant content in today’s information chaos: R&D challenges and opportunities, 2022. Gretchen has been active on Sanofi’s rare blood disorders speakers bureau since 2017.

Gretchen is an active member of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MassBio) and the Medical Affairs Professional Society (MAPS). Gretchen earned an MPS in Organization Development and Change from Pennsylvania State University.
