AIAA achieves best-in-class author experience and efficient, compliant fee transaction process through new partnership with CCC
Danvers, Mass., July 27, 2017 – Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC), a global leader in content management, copyright licensing, discovery, and delivery solutions, announces that the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) now manages its Article Publishing Charges (APCs) for its eight active journals through CCC’s RightsLink® for Open Access.
AIAA, the world’s largest aerospace professional society, is the premier provider of information on aerospace research and development, offering the most credible peer-reviewed articles in the field. Its publications enable aerospace students and professionals to exchange technical knowledge and solutions, document important developments, and report on the latest research.
As its Open Access publishing program continues to grow and evolve, AIAA chose RightsLink to attain an efficient, flexible, and scalable solution for managing APCs. They are now well-positioned to provide their authors with a seamless, user-friendly APC transaction workflow, while addressing institutional requirements and complying with funder mandates.
“We are pleased to expand our relationship with CCC through RightsLink,” said Heather Brennan, AIAA director of publications, “Outsourcing APC collection to CCC makes sense not only to provide our authors with an easy tool to make payments, but also to have available the extensive metadata and robust reporting functionality that are intrinsic to RightsLink, which will inform our Open Access policies and processes going forward.”
CCC strives to meet the needs of publishers with its continually evolving suite of solutions. “RightsLink helps large, mid-size, and small publishers simplify the complexity in Open Access publishing for authors, their institutions, and their funders,” said Jennifer Goodrich, Director of Product Management, CCC. “We believe that publishers can use RightsLink, which provides a best-in-class experience for authors throughout the article production process, to grow and prosper in today’s author-centric publishing environment.”
