DANVERS, Mass., April 20, 2007—Copyright Clearance Center (CCC), the world's largest copyright licensing solutions provider, won a Codie Award from the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) for RightsphereTM, CCC's rights advisory and management service. Rightsphere was named Best Solution Integrating Content into Workflow.
CCC was among more than 600 companies participating in the Codie Award program, and Rightsphere was selected from more than 1,200 nominated products and services. The award was presented in San Francisco on April 17.
The Codies showcase the most innovative products in the digital content and software industries. Finalists were selected by software and information industry trade press, mainstream technology writers, industry analysts, consultants and subject-matter experts. Winners were selected by vote of SIIA members.
"It's a great honor for CCC to be recognized by our industry peers," said Tracey Armstrong, Chief Operating Officer of CCC. "The Codie Award confirms the excitement Rightsphere has generated since its launch last year. Rightsphere has been recognized by several industry associations and trade publications, and it's been adopted by a growing number of corporations."
Rightsphere is a first-of-its-kind Web-based rights advisory and management service that helps corporations promote the free flow of published information while respecting copyright. Rightsphere provides a customized, comprehensive view of all rights assets held by a company and delivers instant answers to employees' desktops to the common question: "How am I allowed to use this content?"
"I applaud all the companies selected as winners or finalists in the 22nd annual Codie Awards," said Ken Wasch, SIIA President. "The software and information industry continues to move at a dizzying pace, and being recognized by your peers for getting to and staying at the head of the pack in such a dynamic environment is a major accomplishment. It is one of the reasons why the Codie Awards hold such a special place in our industry."
