The Endocrine Society Partners with Copyright Clearance Center to Automate Permissions Requests Using RightsLink®

World’s Largest Organization Devoted to Research on Hormones and the Clinical Practice of Endocrinology Implements Licensing Solution for Its Users to Republish or Reuse Content

Danvers, Mass. – Copyright Clearance Center, Inc. (CCC), a global licensing and content solutions organization and the leading commercial document-delivery provider, announced that the Endocrine Society, the world’s oldest, largest, and most active organization devoted to research on hormones and the clinical practice of endocrinology, has implemented CCC’s RightsLink®.

RightsLink enables publishers to provide immediate online permissions to licensees and eliminate costs associated with manual processing, allowing permissions staff to focus on high-value transactions. Each implementation is configured to support the publisher’s unique business and pricing rules and offers reporting tools that help publishers analyze their permissions business and identify areas of growth. The Endocrine Society will use RightsLink to allow visitors to its website to license journal content quickly and easily for republishing or reuse.

“A digital transformation is happening in publishing that impacts not only how people discover and consume content, but also how it is licensed and shared,” said Darren Gillgrass, Director, Rightsholder Products and Services, CCC. “For over a decade, publishers have depended on RightsLink to facilitate permission and reprint requests for copyrighted articles, images, mobile and new media content right from their websites.”

With more than 18,000 members from over 120 countries, the Endocrine Society works to foster a greater understanding of endocrinology among the general public and practitioners of complementary medical disciplines. Further, it promotes this understanding to all endocrinologists at the international and national scientific research and health policy levels of government.

“Managing micro-transactions has historically been a time-consuming activity,” said Richard O’Grady, Chief Publications Officer, the Endocrine Society. “RightsLink frees up our staff to focus on a more strategic outlook.”
