OnCopyright Education Certificate Program

Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) is pleased to offer the OnCopyright Education Certificate Program. Developed for professionals who deal with copyright issues on a day-to-day basis, the program is comprised of industry-specific courses that target a variety of user communities and the challenges faced in managing copyright.

Whether you are responsible for managing compliance and ethics, obtaining permissions, organizing your organization’s various license agreements, or dealing with content, OnCopyright Education’s Certificate Program will guide you through the complex world of copyright.

The program is comprised of a series of instructor-led eLearning courses incorporating group discussions, question and answer sessions and analyses of real-world scenarios, including group and individual activities. Upon completion of the modules that comprise each individual course, participants receive a certificate.

You will learn:

  • How to evaluate potential exceptions and limitations to copyright protection
  • When copyright permission may be needed
  • Content sharing and its implications

Copyright Law and Libraries Certificate Course

This course is an in-depth investigation of library provisions within the law. This instructor led eLearning certificate course incorporates group discussions, question and answer sessions, and analysis of real world scenarios, including both group and individual activities.

  • Recognize the underlying purpose of copyright law
  • Outline the 1976 Copyright Act and subsequent revisions
  • Evaluate interlibrary loan requirements under CONTU
  • Understand the in-depth coverage of section 108 and its most recent revisions
  • Distinguish between interlibrary loan, document delivery, and fee-based and non-fee based library services

Copyright Fundamentals Certificate Course

OnCopyright Education's single module certificate course Copyright Fundamentals focuses on the basics of U.S. copyright law and when permission to use copyrighted materials may be required. During the 90 minute course, students will have the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session. Students will also receive a workbook and a recording of the class itself to help with copyright questions long after the class has been completed.

Copyright Fundamentals in the Workplace Certificate Course

Are you unclear on how copyright law impacts your day to day corporate activities? OnCopyright Education's six module eLearning certificate course Copyright Fundamentals in the Workplace focuses on U.S. copyright law and when permission to use copyrighted materials may be required. With an emphasis on test-based materials, key issues that affect employees are discussed. The course includes instructor-led eLearning sessions, all materials, group discussions, question and answer sessions and analyses of real-world scenarios, including group and individual activities.

  • State the underlying purpose of copyright law and name at least three events that led to the 1976 Revision
  • Describe the purposes of sections 106, 107 and 109 in U.S. Code title 17, Chapter 1
  • Conduct a fair use analysis on at least three scenarios encountered in your organization
  • Understand copyright compliance best practices
