Copyright Clearance Center named among '100 Companies that Matter Most in Knowledge Management' by KM World Magazine for Second Consecutive Year
DANVERS, Mass., January 26, 2009—Copyright Clearance Center (CCC), the world's largest provider of copyright licensing solutions has been named one of the "100 Companies that Matter Most in Knowledge Management" for the second year in a row by KMWorld Magazine.
KMWorld's annual list, which appears in the March issue of the magazine, is compiled by knowledge-management practitioners, theorists, analysts, vendors and their customers. To be considered for this honor, a company must demonstrate a single-minded commitment to improvement and emphasize "an abiding determination to serve their customers." The company's agility, innovation and financial success are also taken into consideration. Other companies to be named to the list have included Apple, Computer Associates, Elsevier, Google and Hewlett Packard.
In 2008, CCC demonstrated its commitment to providing rightsholders and publishers with innovative copyright solutions by increasing the functionality of its RightsLink product to help better manage and monetize content online, and by launching OZMO, a unique online service that helps photographers, bloggers and other artists license their content for commercial use. For its corporate and academic customers, CCC expanded the scope of its Academic Annual Copyright license and introduced ReadyImages, a service designed to provide corporate users with a simple-to-use database of quality pre-licensed images.
CCC is frequently recognized for its success in the delivering of innovative copyright solutions. RightSphere, CCC's web-based rights management tool, was named by KM World as a Trend-Setting Product in 2007 and 2008 for dramatically improving productivity in the rights management arena. CCC has also been selected to the EContent 100 as one of the companies "that matter most in the digital content industry" by EContent magazine for the past three years.
